There was a discussion on the MTC Forum about quilled flowers. This is what I created yesterday. The pink and purple flower files are from my previous Design Team spot with Scrappin with Sharon currently she has taken a break from designing. The yellow centers are all part of the flower, all one piece. It makes creating the flower so much easier.
The blue and orange flowers are from Birds Cards, tutorial Here. You can do a search on her site for flowers and get each file.
I cut the files out of vellum and colored with my Bic Markers. I think they turned out so pretty, like watercolors. When coloring them, I laid the point flat on it’s side and made a swiping motion. I overlapped the stroke a bit to make it look like veins in the leaf and the flower. I also glued them in random spots as I was rolling them, just to give them a little more stability. I made sure they were dry, maybe 2 hours before I started shaping the petals. Be careful when shaping, you don’t want to rip them.
When they’re all finished, they almost feel like a straw flower.

Thanks for looking.

They look beautiful Michelle. The translucent effect of the vellum gives such a delicate effect.
